How to install Talend Open Studio in windows,also what does each section of Talend GUI meant for?

Purpose of this blog: 

So now I assume that you have installed and configured Talend open studio in your machine.Now you must be wondering "NOW WHAT?".You must be trying to figure out what section serves what purpose.

I know you are curious..curb your curiosity, by the end of this blog you will get a lot of clarity.


If faced any problem while installation of software follow below steps👇

Important software Installation

  • Install Java JDK version 11(at present Talend v8 compatible with Java 11 version)
  • Download TOS for DI 👉 https://www.talend.com/products/talend-open-studio/

  • Install MySQL /Oracle for one database

Let's get started with Talend basics

  • TOS tool is a free and open source ETL tool used for Big data and Data Integeration.
  • It is an Eclipse based tool and job designer.
  • Jobs created simple just by dragging and dropping components and using connectors.We can also create component in design workspace by just typing name.
  • Automatically Java code will be generated at the backgroud of job.
  • We have multiple option to connect with data examples RDBMS,EXCEL,CSV,CRMs and many more.
  • Talend Provides more than 800+ components and connectors to achieve desired result.
What is business model?

Business model is a non-technical graphical representation of projects.

WHY Business model?

To understand approach for achieving targets.

Let's understand GUI of Talend

1.Repository : It includeds Business models and Project details.



2.Design Workspace : 

Graphical representation of talend jobs  using components and connectors.
Single job contains few tabs such as Designer,Code.
Designer tab : Graphical representation
Code tab : Java code of job which is automatically generated by talend.




3.Palette : 

There are 21+ categories present containing components.
Component is to perform a single operation for example tFileInputExcel is used to extarct data from excel file.




4.Outline and Code Viewer section: 

Outline tab contains list of components used in selected job similarly Code Viewer show related java code section.



Never shy away from exploring, since most of you must be new to talend,I strongly encourage you all to be adventurous and creative.The more you practice the better you will get.

 Hello Folks, Requirement :   1.Spliting Input file into multiple output files based on number of records.For example:Input file containing 20,000 records and we need to generate multiple output files(containing only 10,000 records). 2.Output file name with sequence For example: On day 1,File generated as FileName_ 001 .csv.
